In September we took an amazing trip to Barcelona, Spain.  The awesome thing about this trip is that Justin’s twin brother, Jason, and his wife, Alyssa, were able to meet us there.  The boys were fantastic on the flights and throughout all of our busy days.  One of my favorite things about this trip was that it was our first vacation with NO “baby” gear!  We didn’t even need the stroller or the Tula!  There were a couple of times we wished we had it when Justin carried a sleeping Gideon all the way down La Rambla and through the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria!

The metro in Barcelona was very easy to navigate and figure out.  We used it to go nearly everywhere.  We also did the hop on, hop off bus tour and I would definitely recommend it.  We learned so much about the city from that tour.

My favorite thing about Barcelona was visiting La Sagrada Familia.  Most of these images are from our visit there!  Construction of this beautiful church began in 1882 and still isn’t complete!  If you go to Barcelona you must go!

The kids favorite thing was the Barcelona Aquarium!  They truly loved it.  I must admit that we’re pretty spoiled by the National Aquarium in Baltimore and there wasn’t nearly as much to see in Barcelona’s.  However, it was still worth the visit and worth the time to do something specifically for the boys.

We also spent some time at the beach, ate so much wonderful food and mostly enjoyed the friendly, fun, CLEAN atmosphere of this beautiful city.  Barcelona is definitely a place we plan to visit again and a great place to vacation for adults and children!
