When Justin returned home from deployment in March I was so excited to take our first family vacation in Europe! We decided to drive up to Germany to stay in the Bavarian Alps for a week. We decided to drive so that we could hit some amazing places in northern Italy along the way. We began our trip with a stop in Florence for the night. Oh my goodness, y’all. Florence is AMAZING… so very different than Naples. Don’t get me wrong, Naples has it’s charms and I do love it. But Florence is on a whole other level! It’s a lot smaller than Naples and so very clean! I enjoyed every second of our 24 hours there and I cannot wait to return. I really believe that if I ever were to live in Italy as an expat (not a military dependent) it would definitely be in Florence!
Florence is the capital of the Tuscany region and is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. From the gorgeous dome of the Duomo to the Piazza Michaelangelo to the Ponte Vecchio… Florence is one of the most stunning and charming cities in all of Europe! Even the AirBnB we stayed in was perfect… It had gorgeous frescoed ceilings… so much culture!
I look forward to visiting again and taking even more photos!
