After leaving Florence we headed North through the Dolomites, the Italian Alps, the Austrian Alps and into the Bavarian Alps! Northern Italy, Austria and southern Germany are amazing you guys! The drive was absolutely stunning and even though it got colder the farther we travelled it was well worth it! We stayed at Edelweiss which is a resort for military members in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. I wish I had taken more photos at the resort and in the town but there was so much to see and do that I just didn’t. It rained a lot during our visit so there were some things we couldn’t do because of the Spring thaw, hiking trails and certain parks were closed. It was a bummer but my top bucket list items for Germany were Neuschwanstein Castle and Dachau Concentration Camp, both of which we visited on this trip. The castle is breathtaking and so intriguing. As soon as we left it I downloaded some books on it and spent some time reading. It’s a bummer that there are no photographs allowed inside of the castle but if you google it you can see some and really take in how stunning it all is!
Justin’s little brother Jordan is stationed in northern Germany so he was able to take a train south and join us for a couple of days. One of the first things we did with Uncle Jordy was just drive around in the mountains and explore. We found an adorable little park and spent some time just getting some energy out. The next couple of days we spent in Munich and riding a cable car to the top of the highest peak in all of Germany! Those photos are in the next post!
